Propaganda Poster

Ice cream is by far my favorite food, I believe there is never a wrong time to have it. Depending on the flavor it could cover almost all of the food groups on the food pyramid, dairy, sugar, grain, and even fruit. Within my poster the two phrases which any ice cream lover would agree with are "Eat ice cream daily for happiness" and "never settle for just one scoop". When deciding on what I wanted my propaganda to be I was very conflicted. I wanted my poster to convey a cause however I also wanted my poster to represent me. I find WW2 very interesting so I started my search there. Although I find it very interesting I didn't;t feel a connection to the any of the inspirational propaganda posters I was looking at. Eventually I came to the realization that I liked the old times feel to the posters so I decided to look at propaganda posters from different decades. It is then I become every inspired by propaganda posters from the 1950's. Using the idea of

Logo Project

Oftentimes I find it hard to give a fun fact about myself or choosing one word to describe myself. When prompted to create a logo to represent myself this was no different. I had a harder time determining what aspects of my life I would like my logo to display than creating the logo itself. Within my logo a four leaf clover with roots is depicted. This logo was carefully created to represent me. As cliche as it is being a quarter irish, four leaf clovers are very important in my family. As a young child when all the cousins would stay over our grandparents house in the summer, as a way to entertain us our grandfather would have us look for four leaf clovers. It would take nine grandchildren hours just to find one. Everyone would be on their hand and their knees including our grandparents looking for them. Over a decade later we had a huge scrapbook filled with four leaf clovers that we had found. As silly as it was, four leaf clovers brought me so much closer with my family and have pl

CALLIGRAM PROJECT

Butterfly Calligram     When asked to write a letter to myself twenty years from now, I truly had no idea how I was going to start. As of right now I have no idea what I am going to do tomorrow let alone twenty years from now. However, once I started writing, I found it hard to stop. Writing this letter wasn't necessarily something I would've done on my own, however it was very necessary for me to do. Writing a letter to my future self really allowed me to reflect on the things I love about my life but also note the things I wish to change over the next twenty years. My letter reminded me that life isn't always going to be easy but, in the end, if you work hard and apprentice each day it will all pay off in the long run. Much like a butterfly, humans go through a metamorphosis too (not physically but mentally). As of right now I am in the chrysalis stage, waiting to find myself and become a butterfly. In twenty years, I hope to have gained my wings and flutter with vibrant

3 Tutorials for Illustrator

Illustrator Tutorials for Beginners Knife, Scissors and Eraser Tools - Adobe Illustrator CC for Beginners      Within this video the artist gave the viewer a recap of how to use the knife, scissors, and eraser tools in Adobe Illustrator. The artist highlighted that using the eraser tool you are not erasing pixels per se, but you are redrawing paths. I thought it was very interesting how you could use the scissors tool to manipulate the different parts of the letters such as rounding, making paths, and using it to clean up the marks that you made.  I also learned that the knife tool is not the most accurate method of editing text because it loosely follows the path that you make. Additionally, you can use keyboard shortcuts to help make more efficient art. In the video she used a group selection tool a shortcut on her computer which allows you to section one thing and group it together with another.      I believe that the hardest part of using all these tools will be realizing what the
