Logo Project
Oftentimes I find it hard to give a fun fact about myself or choosing one word to describe myself. When prompted to create a logo to represent myself this was no different. I had a harder time determining what aspects of my life I would like my logo to display than creating the logo itself. Within my logo a four leaf clover with roots is depicted. This logo was carefully created to represent me. As cliche as it is being a quarter irish, four leaf clovers are very important in my family. As a young child when all the cousins would stay over our grandparents house in the summer, as a way to entertain us our grandfather would have us look for four leaf clovers. It would take nine grandchildren hours just to find one. Everyone would be on their hand and their knees including our grandparents looking for them. Over a decade later we had a huge scrapbook filled with four leaf clovers that we had found. As silly as it was, four leaf clovers brought me so much closer with my family and have played such a huge role into shaping me into the person I am today. Now after both my grandparents have passed, all the cousins still look for four leaf clovers wherever we are, whether its an actual four leaf clover or its a four leaf clover on a shirt in the mall. I felt as though including a four leaf clover in my logo was very appropriate because four leaf clovers have impact my life so much. In addition to the four leaf clover I included roots in its stem as a way to symbolize growth. As growth and change in inevitable in anyone's life. I pride myself on how I have grown into the young woman that I am today. Roots symbolize growth because they are constantly expand as we are constantly growing and learning from experience.
Overall, the tools used to create my logo were the Curvature tool, the ellipse tool, shape builder tool, and the selection tool. I used images that I found online as inspiration for the four clovers along with the roots. I used these images as an outline for what I was trying to produce. I drew the clovers separately and the roots separately then grouped them together when I was satisfied with the overall shape. Then once the two vectors were grouped together I decided on color. Commonly a four leaf clover is green however that was not the only reason I choose green to be in my logo. Green represents clam, serenity, and hope which are so important in my life. As the stroke color within each logo I included a deep blue. Deep blue is a common color used in logos as it depicts responsibility, dependability, and commonly puts people at ease. Not only do the green and blue look good within my logo but they have deeper meanings and represent me as a person. I would have to say this project as a whole took me about two hours. I have difficulty joining all the anchors together at the roots. Personally I like the logo that has a shadow the most out of all of the logos I created. Attached below you will see my sketch and the images I used for inspiration. Attached above is the four logos I created.
