Introducing Me!

Hello my name is Catherine Quesnelle.

I am currently a freshman at the University of Tampa where I will be majoring in Biology! I was raised in a very small town in the smallest state of the United States. Bristol, Rhode Island is the type of town where everyone knows everyone and there is an undying love of the Fourth of July(our town hosts the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the country). Throughout high school I was a very avid tennis player, playing on various teams and leagues. Tennis is what consumed most of my nights and weekends while I was in high school, it definitely will take some time adjusting to not playing as much in college. Additionally, I was a very active member in my high school's environmental club where we focused on how to keep our state beaches clean. In my free time most likely you would find me surfing in Newport, going on runs with my dog, and hanging out with my friends. I would have to say one of my biggest accomplishments thus far in my life is winning a D1 state championship with my tennis team, tennis is something I have put tireless amounts of hours and effort into. Winning a state championship was so rewarding.

I've always wanted to experience a different part of the country for college-especially somewhere that had palm tress and amazing weather. As soon as I stepped on campus, I fell in love with the atmosphere at UT. Without a doubt it became my dream school and the only place I saw myself attending. I am still as in love with the school as I was the first time I saw it. So far all my classes have been very engaging and I have enjoyed attending all of them. I am very much looking forward to this class because my whole life I have loved taking art classes and being creative so to be able to continue this in college is very exciting. Although I did not sign up for this class I am very appreciative that I was put into it because my junior year of high school I took a graphic design class which I very much enjoyed. The programs that we worked with were Illustrator and Photoshop, I do not remember much of these programs because I took the class two years ago but I am very excited to relearn and learn even more in this class. The first class was very engaging and interesting which makes me very excited for the rest of the semester. Although it is going to be a challenge and may be frustrating at times I am very much looking forward to this class.
